DesignEd's Institute for School Innovation: Option 1

  • An entire school faculty will learn the DesignEd Framework and create prototypes to design innovative culture and curriculum. Faculty will be broken into design teams. Schools must to commit to at least 3 full training days but these can scheduled at your convenience. Schools can opt in to additional support days.

    • Design teams will learn the DesignEd Framework.

    • Design teams will participate in multiple mini-design challenges.

    • DesignEd will lead teams in creating a shared vision for innovation for their school that includes the learning environment, curriculum/content, and professional development.

    • Design teams will develop prototypes and test plans for their class and school with defined indicators of success.

    • Design teams will pitch to their colleagues throughout the year.

  • Ongoing Support: Option to continue coaching throughout the year.

    • DesignEd will come to the school to observe prototypes in action and coach teams in debriefing sessions.

  • Impact: Design teams will have the opportunity to report their findings and publish their work on DesignEd's blog for other schools and teachers to use to scale innovation at their school.

 

DesignEd's Institute for School Innovation: Option 2

  • A 3-day Institute with design teams of 5 - 10 teachers and school leaders. Attend with a design team from your school or join a design team representing different schools.

    • Design teams will learn the DesignEd Framework.

    • Design teams will participate in multiple mini-design challenges.

    • Design teams will develop prototypes to design innovative culture and curriculum.

  • Ongoing Support: Option to continue coaching throughout the year.

    • DesignEd will come to the school to observe prototypes in action and coach teams in debriefing sessions.

    • Cohort meetups to discuss prototype outcomes, provide feedback, and next step.

  • Impact: Design teams will have the opportunity to report their findings and publish their work on DesignEd's blog for other schools and teachers to use to scale innovation at their school.
